International Day of Pink

Held annually on the second Wednesday, this year, “International Day of Pink” will be celebrated on April 13, 2016.

This event was an initiative of two heterosexual High School students in Nova Scotia who saw a gay student being bullied because he was wearing a pink shirt. They decided to buy pink shirts and encouraged everyone at their High School to wear them and stand together in solidarity against bullying.

Think about these students who created hope, inspiration and understanding amidst the darkness of discrimination. We invite everyone to support this initiative and celebrate diversity by wearing a pink shirt in order to bring light to the issues of Bullying, Discrimination, Homophobia, Transphobia and Transmisogyny.

Anyone can bully and anyone can be victimized by bullying but together we can stop it.
